The Holy Angels nursing staff includes registered
nurses (RN’s), licensed practical nurses (LPN’s)
and trained technicians. This staff is responsible for ensuring
the highest quality of life to people with developmental disabilities
throughout their life span. Nursing services include medication
administration, resident assessments and screening, development
of treatment plans and coordination of care with physicians,
therapists and other caregivers. Preventative medicine is
a key to the nursing success. Nurses serve as important members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the residents' medical needs and overall health are considered in all plans for each individual resident.
Nurses provide acute care interventions for the medically
fragile residents in the Fisher Healthcare Center. The Healthcare
Center is named for Dr. Ellis Fisher who has been Holy Angels’
medical director for more than 21 years. The on-site center
provides Holy Angels residents a place to receive quality
medical care with a loving touch, without leaving the campus. The nursing staff uses specialized medical equipment in the Health Care Center, in the classrooms, bedrooms and group homes to ensure that the residents have access to the equipment they need.
Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and healthcare technicians staff the center,
which is under the direction of Shawn Wilson, Director of Nursing.
