Holy Angels remains committed to the safety and well-being of our residents, families and staff. We are continuously assessing and adapting our response to sustain us through the Covid-19 crisis.  Holy Angels will always prioritize the highest level of safety and care for our residents and has implemented a number of measures that meet and exceed all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Gaston County Health Department.

MISSION AND MEANING
While we are taking every known precaution to stop the spread of Covid-19, the pandemic reminds us of our dependence on God for his mercy, wisdom and courage. We've adopted a motto during these times - "Faith over fear."

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
Our programs and services have been adapted to ensure the safety of our residents during COVID. We have been guided by those we serve and we are inspired deeply by their willingness to love, live and learn. This is true to a an even greater extent during a pandemic.

VISITOR GUIDELINES

Holy Angels began visitor restrictions in March, 2020. Periodically, families have been allowed to visit outdoors while observing the 3 W’s. The Covid-19 committee continues to evaluate the latest conditions to determine availability of visitations.

SAFETY STEPS AND MEASURES

We implemented additional safety measures in March, 2020 and continue to practice the 3 W’s: Wash your hands, Wear your masks, and Wait six feet apart. We are also providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for all staff and able residents (see graphic).

We increased our infection control practices during the summer due to the Delta variant and again in the winter when we experienced the Omicron surge.

We remain committed to maintaining the highest levels of safety for our residents and staff.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

Based on the recommendations of the CDC, we have suspended our daily LifeChoices program and nearly all of our volunteer activities. The few remaining volunteers are not providing any direct services to residents. We are offering virtual opportunities for community engagement with our residents. We also encourage supporters to send letters, cards and emails to our residents and staff.
