Raising Funds To Continue Our Work
As a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation and sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy South Central Community, Holy Angels is dependent upon financial and volunteer support in order to provide the highest quality care to our residents regardless of their diagnosis, challenges or financial status.
The Holy Angels Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of Holy Angels and must raise 20% of the annual total operating costs for programs and services that are not funded through government and other funding sources. Donations to the Holy Angels Foundation are tax deductible and support vital programs and services.
The Foundation raises funds through a wide variety of activities and events supported by individuals, businesses, organizations, churches and schools. These include:
We Are Grateful For Every Dollar We Receive – For Every Dollar Offers A Treatment, A Smile, A Special Moment Or An Answer To A Prayer
Your $25 gift buys a set of specialized eating utensils and plates.
Your $75 gift buys a nebulizer machine for a resident who requires continuous breathing treatments.
Your $250 gift buys an adaptive switch that enables a resident to turn on a fan when he is hot, or turn it off when she is cold.
Your $750 gift buys an iPad with apps for specialized communications.
Your $6000 gift helps support a month of on-site physician clinics for our residents with delicate medical conditions.
Your $12,000 gift helps fund a new wheelchair – and offers a resident freedom.
Your tax-deductible financial gift, regardless of its size, will truly go a long way in making a difference in the differently-able lives, hearts and minds of a Holy Angels resident.
Leave A Legacy
The Hoban Society is a way for Holy Angels to honor those who have remembered the organization with a legacy gift. It was established in memory of Mother Mary Benignus Hoban, RSM, co-founder and first President of Holy Angels. A donor wall in our front lobby proudly displays the names of those members whose gifts will ensure the future of Holy Angels. We are deeply grateful for the “ripple effects” these legacy gifts continue to have on the lives of those we are privileged to serve, today and tomorrow.
Legacy gifts may be in the form of an estate gift, charitable trust, insurance policy of gift designated to Holy Angels through a will.
Lila Garrett remembers the day when her husband asked her advice on what charity she thought he should support. Influenced by Kays Gary, she immediately called and scheduled a tour for her husband at Holy Angels. Dr. Leonard Pasek respected the care and love he witnessed and thus began a relationship between the two. Upon his death, he left a trust to Holy Angels to ensure the excellent care of God’s most fragile children would always be available.
After her parents passed away, Kathy Kruckel realized she had no one to leave a legacy to. She wanted to give what she had to a place where children will be served – especially vulnerable children like the ones served at Holy Angels. Several years ago, Ms. Kruckel wrote CEO Regina Moody and notified her of her intention to leave planned gift. Kathy recently left another planned gift to Holy Angels – being thrilled by the fact we have the Mother Mary Benignus Hoban Endowment gives her peace of mind that Holy Angels will always be here to help.
We are happy to work with you and your financial or legal advisor to discuss leaving a part of your legacy with us. Please contact Anne Bogen at 704.825.4161, Ext. 4553 or anneb@HolyAngelsNC.org for more information.
