Each summer at Holy Angels brings one of our residents’ favorite experiences—boat rides at Camp Hope. Nestled along the shores of Lake Wylie, our camp gives all 82 residents the opportunity to enjoy the sights, sounds and freedom of the water. These rides provide far more than just fun for our residents. The fresh air, spray of the water and movement of the boat create a powerful sensory experience that fosters joy, connection and excitement. None of it would be possible, however, without our volunteer boat captains.

Our littlest angel has had a celebratory year so far! Emberley came to call Holy Angels home last February, just after her first birthday. Her first year with us has certainly been one of growth—she is already trying to rock on all fours and constantly pulls off her right sock (her favorite thing to do!) She responds enthusiastically to music, reaching for the guitar as our music therapist works with her to develop cognitive skills.

In 2024, that dedication was tested and proven time and again. Over the course of the year, Holy Angels underwent more than 50 surveys and assessments by various state and regulatory entities across our programs. Each came back with no corrections—and the highest possible rating.
