A Meaningful Day on the Course for the 34th Annual Carolina Classic Golf Tournament
/The 34th Annual Carolina Classic Golf Tournament was an incredible day of golf, camaraderie and community at Cramer Mountain Club, where this beloved tradition began more than three decades ago. Nearly 40 teams came together for a full day on the course to raise support for Holy Angels, helping residents and participants live full, meaningful lives and making Mercy Moments possible every day.
Before tee-off, Holy Angels Board Member Andrew Matznick shared a message of gratitude with the crowd. “Through my role at Holy Angels, I get to see firsthand the impact that’s made when passionate individuals join together to celebrate and uplift people of all abilities – just like we are all doing here today,” he shared. “This event is more than a great day of golf; it’s a powerful example of how our community shows up with heart and purpose.”
LANDON AND HIS GRANDFATHER, WALTER, AFTER TEE OFF
The morning session began with a tee off by Holy Angels resident Landon alongside his grandfather, Walter Farris, while resident Thomas had the honor of launching the afternoon round. Spectrum News Sports Director Mike Solarte, a longtime friend of Holy Angels, emceed the event with his signature energy and enthusiasm.
A special highlight of the day was when the Order of Malta presented Holy Angels with a $13,500 grant award to fund specialized medical equipment for residents with complex needs. This donation will help provide vital tools for medication administration, feeding, and health monitoring. We are deeply grateful for the Order of Malta’s ongoing service and dedication as volunteers, board members, and advocates.
