Fish Stix Ministry Brings VBS to Holy Angels

We were delighted to welcome back Fish Stix Ministry from Word of God Lutheran Church near Atlanta, GA, who hosted a very special three-day Vacation Bible School for our residents.

Since 2015, the Fish Stix Ministry Team has created a vacation Bible school with specific programming for a diverse group of differently abled participants. This August, they brought their ministry on the road to visit Holy Angels.

What made this VBS so meaningful was the way each of our residents was paired up with a buddy from Fish Stix. The friendships that formed throughout the week brought so much joy, encouragement and connection.

Together, they explored what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through:

  1. Arts and Crafts tied to Bible stories

  2. Recreation Games filled with energy and laughter

  3. A Mission Project where our participants packed emergency kits for people impacted by natural disasters

Every activity helped tie the theme back to service, love and discipleship in a hands-on way.

The week ended on a high note with Fish Stix’s unique wooden-stick performance and our residents joined right in, filling PUSH Place with music, movement and smiles!
