Eagle Scout Updates Our Outdoor Classroom
/We have some exciting news to share! Nila Payne, a local teen working towards her Eagle Scout rank, chose Holy Angels for her big project, and transformed our outdoor classroom with the help of her troop.
If you’ve ever walked by the space, you know it’s a popular spot for our residents and staff to gather, learn and enjoy being outside.
Here are the new additions to our outdoor classroom:
Four new planters for our residents to grow new plants
A mini greenhouse for hands-on growing and gardening
An outdoor classroom that residents and teachers can use for lessons, art, or just doodling together
A refreshed bench with new cushions for comfort
Decorative painted rocks that were made even more special because Nila’s group painted them alongside our residents
Wooden sensory rocks for the sensory wall
And of course, everything was swept, mulched, and spruced up beautifully!
This space is now more welcoming, engaging and fun for our residents to learn, explore and create – and it was ready just in time for the new school year!
We’re grateful to Nila for choosing Holy Angels as her project site. With the completion of this project, she is now the first girl in her troop to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout! What an incredible milestone – and we’re honored to have been part of her journey.
Thank you, Nila, for leaving such a meaningful mark here at Holy Angels for our residents and staff!
