Emberley celebrates at her 2nd birthday party

Our littlest angel has had a celebratory year so far! Emberley came to call Holy Angels home last February, just after her first birthday. Her first year with us has certainly been one of growth—she is already trying to rock on all fours and constantly pulls off her right sock (her favorite thing to do!) She responds enthusiastically to music, reaching for the guitar as our music therapist works with her to develop cognitive skills.

Just like her 80 friends at Holy Angels, Emberley is learning, growing and accomplishing more than the doctors predicted. We believe the compassionate care and innovative programs we provide to those in our care are instrumental to this incredible progress. Each resident has a song we sing along with them, and you are a vital part of crafting that melody.

We quickly discovered Emberley’s favorite show is Bluey, so of course, the Australian Heeler family was the theme for her 2nd birthday party. Everyone enjoyed cake and seeing her open presents as Emberley eagerly flashed everyone her contagious smile, reminding us that together we compose a bright future for our residents—including Emberley, and those yet to call Holy Angels home.

This Spring, we are sharing Emberley’s story, alongside fingerpainted artwork she created, in our Spring Appeal. Her art features bright color and music, two of her favorite things.

Emberley created the artwork for this year's appeal by painting with acrylic paints and using a hand-over-hand technique with her Nana, Rebecka and our Creative Arts Director, Gaye.
