Spotlight Angel: Emberley’s Christmas Card Art

This year’s Holy Angels Christmas card is more than a piece of art—it’s a story of miracles, joy and connection, created by our youngest resident and 2025 Spotlight Angel, Emberley. Doctors once told us Emberley was deaf, but here at Holy Angels, music revealed a miracle. When she heard a melody for the first time, her smile said it all—she could hear.

Emberley smiles as she “paints” angels with her footprint for this year’s Christmas card.

Emberley helped design this year’s card with our Creative Arts Director Gaye Dimmick. Using a hand-over-hand painting technique, she created three angel figures with her footprints for their bodies, adding halos and wings in gold paint. She then dabbed color onto the background using a Koosh ball and stamped her fingerprints into music notes—symbolizing the sound that changed her world.

The three angels represent three babies whose lives remind us that miracles can happen against all odds: baby Jesus, whose birth changed the world more than 2,000 years ago; Maria Morrow, the baby who changed Holy Angels forever; and Emberley, whose story continues that legacy of love and hope.
