Holy Angels Athletes Shine at Special Olympics
/In April, residents from the Holy Angels campus and participants from the Life Choices program enjoyed an incredible day at the Gaston County Special Olympics held at East Gaston High School. This annual event is a meaningful opportunity for our athletes to try new sports, cheer on teammates and discover new strengths and abilities along the way. From running on the track and jumping in the sand to throwing competitions and relay races, the day was filled with excitement, determination and joy.
This year was especially memorable, as two Holy Angels representatives were selected to serve as official torchbearers for the opening ceremonies. Congratulations to resident Jakayla and Life Choices participant Aron for this special honor and for proudly helping kick off the games. We are so proud of every athlete who participated and grateful for opportunities like Special Olympics that encourage confidence, friendship and meaningful experiences for our residents and participants.
