34th Annual Angel Bowl: A Groovy Day Full of Joy

Angel Bowl is always about one thing: joy.

This year’s 34th Annual Angel Bowl – That ’70s Bowl brought that joy to life in the most colorful, energetic and heartfelt way. From the moment teams and guests arrived in their groovy attire to the final roll down the lanes, the day was filled with laughter, cheering and unforgettable moments for our residents.

As Holy Angels celebrates its 70th anniversary, this year’s theme was especially meaningful — honoring not only the fun and flair of the ’70s, but also the decades of love that have shaped this mission. At the heart of it all is our residents, who took center stage for a day designed just for them.

A Day Designed for Every Resident

One of the most special parts of Angel Bowl is that it happens on the Holy Angels campus, ensuring every resident has the chance to bowl and be celebrated.

Thanks to the incredible work of the Holy Angels maintenance team, custom-built bowling lanes and the “super-shooter” device made it possible for all residents to participate and experience the excitement of knocking down pins. The cheers that followed each roll said it all!

We were honored to have Larry Sprinkle kick off the morning as emcee, a role he has faithfully served since Angel Bowl began in 1992. Throughout the day, we were also joined by an incredible group of emcees who generously gave their time, including Jana Angel of WBTV, John Ahrens of WSOC and Diane Chase of Chase Media, who also serves on the Holy Angels Board of Directors.

Residents led the way with welcome remarks from Butch, Josh, Jaelynn, Greg and Amy F., setting the tone for a day full of excitement. First bowls were rolled by Amy W., Andrew, Wyatt, Caroline and Mason — each met with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

A Community That Shows Up

Angel Bowl would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers and community partners who show up year after year to make this day extraordinary.

We are deeply grateful to our Push Place Lane Sponsors: Dan and Joan Frierson, Giving With Grace Foundation, John and Rowena Barker and Midrex Technologies.

As well as our Home Team Sponsors: Neil Medical Group, The Howe Foundation, Enbridge Gas, Lamb Foundation and Knights of Columbus Council from St. Matthew’s, The Tonon Family and Chick-fil-A.

Your support helps ensure our residents continue to experience meaningful days filled with dignity, fun and community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Angel Bowl such a special day. Because of you, our residents were celebrated, supported and surrounded by love — just as they should be.

And if the past 34 years have been any indication… we’re certain the good vibes will keep rolling for years to come.
