Teens Contribute More than 1,400 Hours of Summer Service at Holy Angels

This summer, 50 exceptional teenage volunteers chose to give something valuable to the residents of Holy Angels: their time. Over eight weeks, our Volunteens dedicated 1,303 hours of service, helping make the summer meaningful and fun for the residents who call Holy Angels home. Volunteens came from public and private middle schools and high schools, as well as homeschool programs throughout Gaston and Mecklenburg counties, bringing their energy, kindness and creativity to our campus and businesses.

About Holy Angels: Now in its 70th year, Holy Angels, Inc. provides medical services and specialized therapies, residential living, special education, creative arts and spiritual opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions. The nonprofit currently serves more than 80 residents currently ranging from ages 3 to 84. Its innovative programs also extend to vocational training and meaningful employment to support adults in reaching their highest potential through five sponsored businesses - Cherubs Café, Cotton Candy Factory, Spruced Goose Station, and Market on Main. A sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, Holy Angels maintains international accreditation from CARF, and employs more than 300 trained, committed individuals and maintains high standards of compliance with all federal, state and local governing bodies.
